Carl Simpson

My main areas of interest are aesthetics and philosophy of technology. In aesthetics, my main research has been in film and photography as these relate to representation in the arts, but I have also published on literature and representation. In technology, I am interested in how technology changes the nature of ethics and am currently working on a book on technology and ethics.

I have supervised MPhil and PhD students at the University of Ghana in areas of ethics, political philosophy and epistemology.

I am willing to supervise graduate students in the areas of aesthetics (particularly film and photography) and technology (particularly the intersection of technology with ethics and/or human self-conception) should the opportunity present itself.
