I received by PhD in Film and Moving Image Studies from Concordia University in 2014 and my MA in Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto in 2008. Prior to joining Laurier, I was a SSHRC postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto's Cinema Studies Institute.
The main focus of my research is the contemporary superhero film. I am currently working on a monograph about Marvel and DC films from 2008–2024 and an edited collection about superhero television (co-edited with Anna F. Peppard). I have published widely on other subjects, including comics, Stanley Kubrick, professional wrestling, doppelgängers in film, and veganism.
