I received my PhD in political science from the University of Toronto and have been at Laurier since 2003.
Prior to arriving at Laurier, I taught political science at the St. George and Erindale campuses of the University of Toronto.
My research focuses on the political claims of groups and the normative responses. I am particularly interested in claims to citizenship, autonomy claims, multinational federalism, and constitutional design for divided societies. My regional focus is Africa, and special expertise is Nigeria.
I am willing to supervise graduate students in the areas of federalism, citizenship, multiculturalism, constitutional design for divided societies, and territorial pluralism.
