I received my PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies from York University in 2013 and my MA in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Toronto in 2008. I held a postdoctoral fellowship with the International Council for Canadian Studies at the University of Silesia in Poland and a doctoral fellowship with the Nathanson Centre on Transnational Human Rights, Crime and Security at Osgoode Hall Law School. I've also taught at Trent University and Ryerson University.
Broadly, my research examines history as a dramatic subject in Canadian arts, culture and media with an interest in the issue of war. I analyze artistic representations alongside changing cultural and socio-political concerns and contexts to show how historical narratives are interrogated, celebrated, revised, remembered or connected to ideas of identities in different ways, at different points in time.
