My research interests focus on civil society, civic participation, nonprofit organizations, democracy and (de)globalization. I have published a book and multiple papers on NGOs in authoritarian China, nonprofit leaders’ power, and human rights in developing countries.
My current research examines three fields:
I am happy to supervise students with research interests in civil society, democracy, nonprofits, civic participation and globalization, especially using quantitative methods to examine these topics.
