I was born in Cambridge, Ontario, completed my undergraduate studies at Laurier in 1990 and my PhD in philosophy at the University of Guelph in 1998. Before coming to Laurier Brantford I taught at the University of Windsor.
My research focuses on the history of ideas.
I have employed many student assistants in Brantford. Brantford students have helped complete work on the following projects: several editions of Critical Thinking (Broadview Press); Literary Form, Philosophical Content; a special issue of Poetics Today on genres of philosophical writing; Ideas Under Fire; and currently, Life Examined.
I am willing to supervise students working on the history of ideas and the history of philosophy.
