I completed my undergraduate degree at the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan, and went to the University of Southern California, USA, to do my PhD in Economics. Before joining Wilfrid Laurier University, I taught undergraduate Economics at the University of Waterloo.
My research interests span various topics in the fields of international economics and macroeconomics. Using survey and detailed administrative data, I investigate the impact of exogenous shocks (such as, conflict, exchange rate volatility, and trade liberalization) on firm-level outcomes. My ongoing and future research goals include exploring the formation and role of inflation expectations, and macroeconomic implications of consumer sentiment, with an emphasis on policy-relevant questions within the broader field of development economics.
