Applying for an Entrance Bursary

The entrance bursary application deadline is May 1, 2025.

Eligibility

The entrance bursary is designed to support incoming Laurier students who demonstrate financial need. It is worth up to $1,500 and does not need to be repaid.

You can apply for an entrance bursary if you:

• Are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; and
• Have never attended a post-secondary institution before Laurier.

You'll receive half of the entrance bursary amount in the fall term and the remaining half in the winter term. The funds will be applied to your tuition and fees invoice directly. To receive your entrance bursary, you must be enrolled as a full-time student.

How to Apply

Applications open December 2, 2024.

LORIS is used to complete all student award applications. To learn more about the system and how to use it, see the LORIS page.

1. Log in to LORIS.
2. Navigate to the "Student Awards and Financial Aid" tab.
3. Click the “Student Awards Applications” link to access the Laurier Scholars Award Application.
4. Once started, you will be able to review and make changes to your submission up until the deadline.

How to Access Your Application Once Started

1. Click the “Student Awards and Financial Aid” tab.
2. Click the "View My Applications" link. 
3. Click to "View/Modify" your Laurier Scholars Award Application.
4. When your application is complete, click the "Submit" button.
5. Visit the "View my Applications" tab to ensure the application shows as "submitted".
