Paramedicine (BSc)

In addition to the required courses, an additional 3.0 senior credits are required.

The following elective virtual asynchronous courses may appeal to students in this program. Students will either have the necessary prerequisites based on the required course list (e.g. HS200), or the course only requires senior student status as a prerequisite.

If you completed a 2-year Paramedic diploma:

• Paramedic diploma from a publicly funded Canadian institution with an overall average admission range: low 70s
• 4U English or equivalent at 60%
• Successfully completed the Advanced-Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A-EMCA) certificate or Canadian equivalent
• Worked a minimum of 6,700 hours as a land or air paramedic in a Canadian Paramedic Service Organization or Canadian Emergency Medical Service (EMS) as detailed in an employment letter

If you completed a 1-year Paramedic diploma:

• Paramedic diploma from a publicly funded Canadian institution with an overall average admission range: low 70s
• 4U English or equivalent at 60%
• Successfully completed the Advanced-Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A-EMCA) certificate or Canadian equivalent
• Worked a minimum of 6,700 hours as a land or air paramedic in a Canadian Paramedic Service Organization or Canadian Emergency Medical Service (EMS) as detailed in an employment letter
• One of either: 
  • An Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) or Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) graduate diploma, or
  • Proof of 12,340 hours worked (in addition to the minimum 6,700 hours for a total of 19,040 hours) as a land or air paramedic in a Canadian Paramedic Service Organization or Canadian Emergency Medical Service (EMS) as detailed in your employment letter.

• Members of the Canadian Armed Forces: paramedics and med-techs may not be eligible for direct entry into the program, but should add this experience to your application in the Activities section for consideration.
• Graduates from career colleges and/or privately funded paramedic programs are not eligible for direct entry into the program.
