Laurier is committed to creating a barrier-free environment for all persons, including persons with disabilities, whether this is while studying, visiting or working. As part of this commitment, we offer a variety of services and supports that help to create an accessible Laurier.

At Laurier, we have a number of resources that can provide you with information about supports related to accessibility.

Accessible Learning

Accessible Learning assists students with disabilities in reaching their full academic potential by providing academic accommodations that maintain academic integrity and level the playing field. Services offered include the provision of alternative formats, exam accommodations, learning strategies, note-taking, student support and tutoring.

Career Development Centre

The Career Development Centre supports current Laurier students and alumni with job search, career planning, information regarding students' rights in an interview, disclosure options and accommodations, and access to external resources on workplace accessibility.

Centre for Student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

The Centre for Student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, works to cultivate a culture on campus that respects and promotes equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice in all aspects of Laurier – from classrooms to residence communities.

Library Accessibility Services

The Laurier Library provides research assistance, video tutorials, and accessible workstations. Library services for people with disabilities include research help, accessible formats of library materials, quiet study spaces, and book pickup and delivery.

The Delton Glebe Centre

The Delton Glebe Centre, run by Martin Luther University College, offers multi-faith counselling to help strengthen emotional and spiritual well-being. The centre offers a unique approach to counselling, taking into account a variety of spiritual or faith-based belief systems.

Student Wellness Centre

The Student Wellness Centre provides comprehensive counselling and health services. All students have access to these services through their OHIP and extended health plans.

Human Resources

The Equity and Accessibility department in Human Resources develops training and workshops related to accessibility, consults on AODA legislation and advocates for accessibility in policies. The Employee Health and Well-Being department works with employees requiring accommodations due to a disability. If you require accommodations for your job interview, visit Working at Laurier.
